Mission Statement. This Statement is consistent with and amended from the 1988 Mission Statement.
We, as believers of the LRMC, consider it our mission to reach out and show Christ-like love and compassion to our fellow brothers and sisters, our local community, and to the broader Christian outreach. We will endeavor to be a New Testament church following Christ’s teaching of being his disciples as taught in Acts 1:8. We at LRMC want to demonstrate God’s power by meeting physical, spiritual and financial needs.
Within the LRMC fellowship:
That there be a desire to live a godly life according to the Bible, God’s written word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
That there be a willingness to verbally confess Christ as Savior
That both the Old and New Testament be accepted and taught as God’s inspired word.
That we seek to demonstrate each person’s spiritual gifts striving for a completeness in our fellowship. 1 Corinthians 12:12
That visitors be warmly welcomed
That our worship time be an experience of communion with God and fellow members as we sing, share testimonies, and pray together
That we as God’s people seek to resolve, in love, any conflict which affects the church body
Within our Local Community:
That we reach out to others outside of our own congregation showing an agape love and inviting others to a personal relationship with Jesus
That we continue to seek opportunities to develop outreach programs based on the needs of our local community and continuously reassess the impact of current programs
That we encourage personal evangelism
Within the broader Christian outreach:
That we be supportive of the missions of the broader Mennonite church.
That we are diligent in prayer for mission outreach throughout the United States and the world.
That we support programs such as Mennonite Disaster Service, Mennonite Central Committee, and Mennonite Brethren Conference.
That we have a vision to help support anyone who chooses to go into mission work from our fellowship.
